Ivan Ciro Palomino was born in 1977, in Lima, Peru. As a child, he liked to draw giant animals from prehistory. It was surprising to him to see them replicated on his small sheet of paper. As a teenager, it was very difficult for him to choose what to study, he thought of being an architect, but in the end he decided to pursue a career in graphic design. Perhaps, he would have been a great skyscraper architect like his giant animals that he illustrated as a child. But who knows... Palomino studied at the PUCP Faculty of Art and Design. His works are characterized by mixing the ambiguous, the real and the antagonistic, and by combining symbolic realities, which are sometimes accompanied by irony. In 2016 he was awarded by the UN in a contest where more than 4000 artists from 125 countries participated and invited to travel to New York to receive his diploma from the then Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, and the messenger of Peace Michael Douglas. In 2017 he won in two categories of the contest "17 objectives to transform our world", organized by Unesco. That same year he also triumphed in the contest "Latin Energy, the best Latin American illustrations 2017", with the illustration "A different equation". The following year, he returned to New York for his first solo exhibition: "CONSCIENCE" at the United Nations. In addition, he won an international award for the best project, which was presented to the UN. The event was organized by the Design Biennial of Peru. In 2019, it was exhibited in the city of Sao Paulo and in the city of Rio de Janeiro it was exhibited with the support of the United Nations in Rio de Janeiro. In recent years, Palomino has continued to participate in competitions and has exhibited collectively in countries such as the United States, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Argentina, Romania, Brazil, China, among others.
