Mirza Gholamreza Esfahani (1831-1887) was one of the masters of Iranian calligraphy and calligraphy of Nastaliq and Shekaste Nastaliq. Mirza Gholamreza was one of the most famous calligraphers of the Qajar period. He was a Muslim, mystic, writer, passionate and a man of meaning and belief. Gholamreza went to school at the age of five and after two years he was able to read the whole Qur'an. At the age of maturity and mastery of art, he considers himself the success of God. After dreaming in the presence of Shah Olia, Mirza studied calligraphy with Mir Seyyed Ali Tabrizi until he became well-known in calligraphy at the age of nine. During his not so long life, he created many works, some of which have been registered in the national works of art of the country. Mirza Gholamreza passed away on the fourth Thursday of Rabi 'al-Thani in 1304 AH.
