Henri Prestes is a Portuguese fine art photographer based in southern Europe. “Born and raised in Portugal, his work deals in the ephemeral nature of memory, the childlike wonder and uncertainty of discovering an uncharted world. Prestes’ subjects, often obscure and shadowy figures captured in misty fields and deserted suburbs, represent the viewers own feelings of solitude, alienation, and nostalgia. Culling from his own travels across Europe, and at the same time tapping into something completely universal, Prestes lens invites you to dive into his world wholeheartedly: no matter where you might ultimately end up”, Fotografiska 2023. He’s the Gold Cube Winner of the 100th ADC Awards in 2021 with his ‘The Velvet Kingdom’ photography series and the Bronze Cube Winner in 2020 and 2022. He’s had his work exhibited in the UK, US, Portugal and Spain. His debut photography book was published in the UK on October 2022.
