Sliman Mansour was born in 1947 and is one of the most important figures among contemporary Palestinian artists. Samia Halabi, a Palestinian artist and researcher, describes Mansour as part of the liberation art movement and mentions him as an artist and cultural activist before and after the Intifada. During the Intifada, Mansour was a member of the New Perspectives (Palestinian Artists Group), along with artists such as Taysir Barakat, Vera Tamari, and Nabil Annani. In protest against the Israeli regime, the group used only art supplies and a combination of materials found in Palestine to create their work. In 1988, he painted four murals on the walls of the devastated villages of Yibna, Yalo, Imwas and Beit Dajan. Mansour is the author of "Both Sides of Peace, the Art of Israeli-Palestinian Political Poster," published in 1998 by the Museum of Contemporary Art and the University of Washington.
