The exhibition “Presence & Absence” at the Carpet Museum of Iran brings together works by four artists in the mediums of painting, photography, and design, and explores the concepts of presence, absence, permanence, and oblivion. Mohammad Ghaffari, the curator of the exhibition, emphasizes the importance of interaction between different artistic disciplines in museums and believes that this exhibition is not only a visual experience but also an attempt to revive the concept of narrative in art. By focusing on philosophical dichotomies such as being and non-being, presence and absence, and permanence within oblivion, this exhibition creates a dialogue between different artistic mediums

Ali Akbar Nasrabadi’s and Sondos Hamidian’s paintings, using wood-burning techniques and natural metaphors, address the theme of change and decay. Abbas Kiarostami’s photographs, with their unique minimalism, explore the boundary between presence and absence. Nima Bavardi’s drawings, with a conceptual perspective, examine the role of time and memory in empty spaces. The exhibition “Presence & Absence” is not only a visual experience but also an opportunity to rethink the concept of presence in the midst of absence.
