The provincial section of the 17th edition of Fajr Visual Arts Festival in Tehran province, will open on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the Rasoul Mehr Art Gallery.
Behdad Najafi Asadollahi is the art director of this section of the national festival which is titled ‘My Home Land’ this year.
Fifteen distinguished artists from the province in the fields of painting, calligraphy, sculpture, photography, installation, performance art, hand printing, collage and digital art are invited and participate in the event and it will host interested parties and visitors until February 18, from 9 am to 4 pm.
Behdad Najafi, the provincial secretary of the exhibition, said in this regard that the diversity of artistic disciplines and the quality of the works presented to the exhibition this time were the two main axes of selecting the artworks, and accordingly, a number of selected artists from Tehran province have been invited. He added that the active visual arts environment and the number of prominent artists in the province have made the selection very difficult, and it is hoped that in future editions, with the growth and development of the festival's facilities and resources, it will be possible to invite more artists in various fields.
Saeideh Arian, the country secretary of the 17th Fajr Visual Arts Festival, stated in this regard: “The ‘My Home Land’ section is a special provincial section of the 17th Fajr Visual Arts Festival, which has been held under the title of ‘Visualization of Art ’ in previous years. This year’s approach to this section is to pay attention to the subcultures, customs, and indigenous arts of the country’s provinces. The exhibition of artists’ artworks curated by art directors in 31 provinces of the country will open as of February 9.
Fars Province will host the opening of the festival, ‘My Land’ section and the festival’s opening bell will ring at the Sarv Gallery in Shiraz.
The invited artists for this exhibition in Tehran are: Ardeshir Ahmadinejad, Alireza Akbari, Leila Banki, Zohreh Hassani, Maryam Ravvar, Saman Shadanloo (Ilkhan), Nazanin Samet, Fereydoun Safavi, Shokofeh Karimi, Mohammad Kariminia, Fatemeh Geramipour, Mahsa Mashayekhi, Vahid Memari, Mehrad Mehrkish and Hamoon Hoshyar.
Rasoule Mehr Art Gallery hosts artistic programs in all disciplines throughout the year constantly.
